UPC believes a lifelong spiritual journey begins with the teaching of children through dynamic, interactive approaches.  Children are introduced to God as love through safe nurturing relationships with caregivers and teachers.

Our children’s Sunday School classes meet every Sunday during the School year (except the Sunday following Christmas and during the month of August), from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.

During this season we choose to keep our vulnerable children safe by meeting for Sunday School outdoors in the Gathering Space.  When weather sends us indoors we will be in the Christian Education building room 6.

Nursery Childcare (Community Room)

Children are welcome in all aspects of community life at UPC.  Families are invited to worship together in whatever way works for their family.  Childcare is available for children infant-Kindergarten in the Community Room behind the sanctuary and is open from 7:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings.  Grown ups must sign children in and out of childcare.  Children over the age of two will wear masks indoors.  As the weather permits, childcare may move the playground.

Children’s Sunday School (Gathering Space)

Children Kinder-5th grade are invited to wonder and explore together through stories, crafts, and games.  We are finding community and our place in the world through picture books, sacred stories, and time together creating and in play.

Sanctuary Worship

During our 10am worship service there is a Time for Children.  Children and families are invited to come forward and hear a message just for them.  We also have quiet activities such as coloring or puzzles for children to work on during the service if they need something to keep their hands busy.  Children are a precious part of our congregation and worshiping with children means that wiggles and questions are celebrated and encouraged.  Let us learn how to be a community together in prayer and song and contemplation as well as through the cries of babies, not so hushed whispers of children, and squirmy toddlers.
